Come Unto MeMatthew 11:28–300:57“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” — Matthew 11:28–30, KJV
Keys of the KingdomMatthew 16:15–191:58“He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” — Matthew 16:15–19, KJV
Love God, Love Thy NeighbourMatthew 22:36–390:51“Master, which is the great commandment in the law? And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.” — Matthew 22:36–39, KJV

Why music helps you memorize Scripture
Memory works better with melody.
It is the trick behind every "alphabet song" anyone ever learned. The reason advertising jingles stick in your head for thirty years. The reason you can still recite hymn lyrics from childhood without trying.
For Bible memorization specifically, music does three things at once that no other practice can match.
Melody as memory glue
When words are tied to a tune, the brain encodes both together. The melody becomes a key that unlocks the words on demand — even years later.
Built-in repetition
A chorus repeats without anyone trying. Three plays of a song means the verse runs through your kid's head six to nine times — that is spaced repetition, accidentally.
Retrieval through tune
Pause mid-song, even silently in your head, and you will finish the lyric. Melody is one of the strongest retrieval cues human memory has — stronger than meaning alone.
That is the whole premise of this page.
Pick the verse you want your family to know. Drop the song into your week. The memorization happens on its own.
Tips for memorizing Bible verses with kids
- Pick one verse a week. Not five. One. Familiarity beats coverage — you want every kid in the family humming the same chorus by Friday.
- Anchor it to routine moments. Breakfast. The drive to school. Bedtime. The same three slots, every day, for a week. The repetition does the work.
- Sing along, do not just listen. Children retain words they have produced themselves much better than words they have only heard.
- Print the verse. Tape it to the fridge. The song carries the words; the printed verse anchors them when you look up.
- Connect it to the day. When something happens that maps to the verse — a kindness, a question, a hard moment — name it out loud. "That is what the verse this week is about."
- Do not quiz. Quizzing turns the verse into homework. Let it absorb. By next Sunday it will be there.
A verse you can sing is a verse you cannot lose.
